Shuiko: A record about people who inspire us to be better

I chose the name "Shuiko" for the record because it’s a name of the first Japanese person I ever had a conversation with. It serves as a reminder that the people around us have an influence on our lives.The reason I did it is because Shuiko is the reason I started studying this language, and she's been helping me a lot with it.

Shuiko's unexpected entrance altered my journey forever. Since her non-English speaking served as a motivation for me to study Japanese in order she to understand me.

As I got more and more into studying Japanese, I realized that I wasn't just learning a new way to communicate, but I was also opening my mind to a new way of thinking. That was a moment of realization when I understood the potential for learning from other cultures.

During the creative process of developing a project, I found myself continuously drawn to a particular melody that reminded me of Shuiko. While initially, I hadn't intended to name the project after her, the significance she held in my personal journey became undeniable. I realized that Shuiko deserved recognition for her pivotal role in helping me embrace the Japanese language and culture.

I didn't mean to name a record after Shuiko, but while I was working on a project, I just couldn't help but keep calling it Shuiko. And when the time came to release it, I stuck with that name. As the release date neared, a realization hit me. Shuiko's name must be in it, as she epitomized my journey of growth. The record became a tribute to her profound impact on my life, showcasing the power of human connections. In the final moments of the soundtrack, I chose to include audio messages exchanged between Shuiko and myself. These heartfelt conversations, spoken in Japanese, encapsulated the essence of our connection and my gratitude for her guidance. Listening to those messages, I felt a profound sense of appreciation and understanding. Shuiko had unknowingly set me on a path of self-discovery and personal growth, forever changing the trajectory of my life.

Shuiko's presence in my life serves as a constant reminder of the importance of embracing the surrounding world and the transformative power of human connections.
