I never saw anyone doing this

In my journey with Ableton Push, I’ve discovered several distinct approaches to music creation, and it’s fascinating how they kind of compete for my attention!

The first approach I started with was during my live streams. I’d create a bunch of loops—like soundscapes, beats, and bass lines—beforehand, and then I’d sequence them on the fly using the Push, without actually playing in real time. It’s efficient and lets me focus on the arrangement.

The second approach involves live performance with multiple tracks. By setting up MIDI capture for several instruments at once, I can create a full, layered melody with just a single note. It’s a bit more complex, requiring careful setup, but the result is magical.

The third approach is the most hardcore: finger drumming everything live. I set up a drum rack that includes all sorts of elements—bass, soundscapes, and even melodic parts—and I play everything in real time, including the beat. It’s challenging but incredibly rewarding.

I’ve made videos showcasing each approach separately, but I haven’t combined all three just yet. I’ve been toying with the idea of blending them all into one ultra-complex, but incredibly rewarding method. I think it would be amazing.
