What I listen

I've been asked a lot about the music I love and what has inspired me over the years. So I figured it was time to write a post about it. When I was a teenager, I got really into US hip hop. This is important because it shaped my thinking as I grew up with artists like Xzibit, Wu Tang, 2pac, Ice Cube, and the East Coast-West Coast scene. Hey, it's a huge list! Just give this playlist a look.

These artists played a big role in my cultural development since I had to do a lot of personal growth on my own, with my parents always busy working (respect). I can't remember how I stumbled upon this music, but I feel lucky because a lot of people miss out on the true meaning of hip hop culture.

I often think of hip hop as an audiobook with a beat, teaching you things like discipline, respect, persistence, and equality that your family and school may have missed.

I kept listening to hip hop until 2009 when I found a radio station called Digital Imported DI FM. This was a game-changer for me because the music without lyrics taught me so much.

During my college years, I moved to another country and felt like an outcast due to the cultural differences. This gave me a lot of time to reflect on my life choices and what I wanted for my future.

It made me question the kind of person I wanted to become. I thought about these questions every day for a long time while listening to artists like Aes Dana, Carbon Based Lifeforms, Cell, Emancipator, Sync 24, and others. Their music further disconnected me from the culture around me at the time. Once again, this is a huge list of artists who have had a major impact on me. So, here's playlist the whole bunch of names!

So answering what ambient I recommend to check is...

THIS

I believe that was a turning point for me. It set the course for my future because no matter how hard I tried to fit in, I could never quite belong. For about five years, I was convinced that I would have a very lonely life since I didn't feel like I belonged anywhere.

It was a dark time for me until 2017 when I realized that having nothing to lose is actually a freedom. I could do whatever I wanted with my life, and the lack of connections with people became an advantage. I started putting a lot of effort into getting back into the music world, and the lack of connections actually worked in my favor.

The lack of connections with people became an advantage because it pushed me to work hard to find my place in the music world. I started focusing on online work to earn a living because I knew I hadn't found where I truly belonged yet. But I kept searching, hoping that one day I would find it.

The only thing I knew is that I gotta be able to squeeze my whole life into a backpack and be ready to go wherever, whenever. I wanna bring all my stuff, everything I love, and even my career along with me to any place I choose to go.

This is how I discovered minimalism, but we're not discussing it right now. I'll explain more about it later.

And of course, there are some new heroes too! As I continue exploring 2ndAccident, I keep coming across cool people who have become my guiding flames. They really inspire me to be a better person, both as a musician and just as a human being in general. Right now, some of these ppl include Fume, Sakura Tsuruta, and Utena Kobayashi.

There's a lot more to it, maybe I'll come back and update the post with more details because the story is really huge. But for now, I'll leave you with this post and some playlist links that have music from every chapter of my life.

I hope I answered your question...
