What I listen
I've been asked a lot about the music I love and what has inspired me over the years. So I figured it was time to write a post about it. When I was a teenager, I got really into US hip hop. This is important because it shaped my thinking as I grew up with artists like Xzibit, Wu Tang, 2pac, Ice Cube, and the East Coast-West Coast scene. Hey, it's a huge list! Just give this playlist a look. These artists played a big role in my cultural development since I had to do a lot of personal growth on my own, with my parents always busy working (respect). I can't remember how I stumbled upon this music, but I feel lucky because a lot of people miss out on the true meaning of hip hop culture. I often think of hip hop as an audiobook with a beat, teaching you things like discipline, respect, persistence, and equality that your family and school may have missed.
