What I listen

I've been asked a lot about the music I love and what has inspired me over the years. So I figured it was time to write a post about it. When I was a teenager, I got really into US hip hop. This is important because it shaped my thinking as I grew up with artists like Xzibit, Wu Tang, 2pac, Ice Cube, and the East Coast-West Coast scene. Hey, it's a huge list! Just give this playlist a look. These artists played a big role in my cultural development since I had to do a lot of personal growth on my own, with my parents always busy working (respect). I can't remember how I stumbled upon this music, but I feel lucky because a lot of people miss out on the true meaning of hip hop culture.  I often think of hip hop as an audiobook with a beat, teaching you things like discipline, respect, persistence, and equality that your family and school may have missed.  I kept listening to hip hop until 2009 when I found a radio station called Digital Imported DI FM . This was a ga...

How we overlook good things about each other

Image
They say not to worry about what people will think. Yeah, well, I gotta say, that's not entirely true. I've noticed that many ppl miss out on amazing people and opportunities because they're stuck on the idea that if they don't get any negative feedback, they're perfect. Including me btw. But let me tell you, there's a little something called silent disapproval. Ive learned about it the hard way so let me make it easier for you. So… While negative reactions may sting, they're at least an indication that someone cares enough to express their concerns. Silent disapproval, on the other hand, can be more damaging because it often goes unnoticed. When people quietly distance themselves from us due to our behavior, it can lead to the loss of interesting and valuable connections. The lack of feedback can also prevent personal growth and self-improvement. One common misconception is that if our behavior doesn't attract criticism, it must be entirely acceptable. ...

Feeling overwhelmed and drained, or are you just craving a new challenge?

Image
Feeling overwhelmed and drained, or are you just craving a new challenge? How can you decipher your current state of mind?  We've been talking about this a week ago on my livestream. So, this topic struck a chord with me, and I did some Googling. Here's what I found about this... We sometimes find ourselves at crossroads where our energy wanes, and motivation dwindles. It's a common conundrum: are you experiencing burnout, that bone-deep exhaustion, or have you, perhaps, become a little too comfortable, bordering on boredom? The two may share symptoms, but the roots are distinctly different. This blog post is your guide to understanding and distinguishing between these two states. Burnout: When the Flame Flickers Exhaustion:  Burnout is often defined by a profound sense of physical and emotional exhaustion. It is the result of prolonged, excessive stress, often stemming from high-pressure environments. Lack of Satisfaction:  Burnout brings an enduring sense of dissatisfac...

Game of reasons

Image
Over the course of last year I came up with this term "Game of Reasons" – a term that encapsulates the complex interplay between our desires, decisions, and the reasons that drive us to do things we might not particularly like. In this blog post, we'll delve into this intriguing concept that blurs the lines between personal choice and external influence. For  example... The digital age has brought us to a place where social media platforms like Instagram dominate our online interactions. Yet, for some, Instagram might not be the preferred choice. So, why use it?  It's often the "Game of Reasons" at play. Perhaps our friends are there, and we want to stay connected. Maybe we've stumbled upon genuinely interesting content or people. In this game, our actions don't always align with our feelings, and that's what keeps the world interestingly gray. Another dimension of the "Game of Reasons" is seen in our social interactions. There are time...

Crafting a Balanced Daily Routine: Priorities and Adaptability

Image
I've been thinking about sharing some thoughts on how you actually organize and balance your life on a daily basis, from the moment you wake up till it's time to hit the hay.  To navigate this complex landscape, many have adopted a structured approach to daily routines, one that divides their activities into categories like money, health, and long-term goals. This method provides not only balance but also a sense of purpose to our daily lives. In this blog post, we'll delve into this thoughtful approach to daily routines and explore ways to fine-tune it to meet your unique needs and goals. The Three Pillars: Money, Health, and Long-Term Goals Breaking down your daily activities into three key categories can provide a solid foundation for your routine: Money : Devoting time each day to activities that generate income or improve your financial situation is crucial for financial stability. This category encompasses work-related tasks, side hustles, budgeting, and financial pla...

What keeps you playing games is what keeps you happy in life

Image
Think about what keeps you playing your favourite games through years. Genres. Activities. Answer is a key to your happiness and fulfilment... Let me explain.  The way people perceive games. You see, many people think of games as a way to escape from reality, but in reality, games are often built using interesting elements from our own lives. Developers take these concepts and create a whole game around them. Think about it like this: on the surface, you have a hero who collects cool gear, overcomes obstacles, and reaches their ultimate goal. They face stronger enemies, discover more nuanced mechanics, and it's all very similar to the challenges we face in real life. The main difference is that games often package these experiences in a more exciting and attractive way. Just like in life, we all begin with small steps, constantly striving to grow and take on more daunting challenges in order to improve ourselves. Developers have ingeniously transformed these raw concepts from real ...

Respectful Ghosting

Image
Introduction The idea of "ghosting" may be seen as something unconventional. Nonetheless, it is worthwhile to pause and reflect on those individuals who confidently set their boundaries and sometimes resort to ghosting when required. Though it may initially seem disconcerting, ghosting, when executed with consideration and intention, can become a driving force for self-improvement. In this blog post, we will delve into the reasons why ghosting is not always detrimental and how it can inspire personal development. The Unapologetic Stance on Boundaries We live in a world where setting boundaries can sometimes be viewed as impolite or confrontational. Yet, there's an undeniable strength in individuals who are unapologetic about their boundaries. These are the people who won't let you cross lines that matter to them. It's a trait that's often associated with self-assuredness and a deep understanding of one's values. The Rise of Ghosting Over the past few years...

Healthy boundaries

Image
Energy is our life force, fueling our actions, thoughts, and decisions. When our energy dissipates, leaving us drained and ineffective, it's called "energy leakage." Crossing boundaries is a common source of this leakage. In this article, we'll explore the importance of boundaries in maintaining a healthy flow of energy. The Vitality of Energy Before we delve into the topic of boundaries, let's establish the vital role that energy plays in our lives. Whether it's tackling daily tasks, making important decisions, or pursuing our dreams, energy is the driving force behind our actions. Both mental and physical energy are essential for maintaining the quality of our lives, both in the short term and the long term. Understanding Energy Leakage Energy leakage occurs when we spend our energy on things that don't contribute positively to our well-being or goals. It's like leaving the tap running when not in use, causing a wasteful loss of resources. While ther...

Why We Should & Shouldn't Limit Ourselves with "Tags"

Image
One of the most common questions that artists often face is, "What kind of music do you create?" It's a seemingly simple query, often asked by radio stations, podcasters, and those in the music industry seeking a quick way to categorize and introduce your work. For many, the response might be straightforward, like "Ambient Music" or "Downtempo." But for those who dig deeper into the creative process, the answer isn't as clear-cut. In this blog post, we'll explore why limiting yourself to traditional genre "tags" can be restrictive and how thinking outside these boundaries can lead to truly innovative and boundary-pushing creations. Genre is a Label In the world of music, genres serve as labels, neatly categorizing artists and their creations. These labels help industry professionals introduce your music and guide listeners to their preferred sounds. It's a practical approach that simplifies communication. However, when we dive de...

OVER THE EDGE: SMART ANGER THAT GETS THE BALL ROLLING

Image
Anger, often viewed as a destructive emotion, can surprisingly be a potent tool for transformation. It might not sustain us through the long race of life, but it's the spark that can propel us to action, much like the adrenaline needed to tie your shoes before running a marathon. In this blog post, we gonna explore the paradox of anger, its potential as a catalyst for change, and how to channel this intense emotion constructively. YOU CAN USE ANGER Anger is a primal emotion, an instinctive response to perceived injustices or threats. It surges through us with a fiery intensity, demanding our attention. While it's true that unchecked anger can lead to harm, when harnessed and directed appropriately, it can serve as the impetus for profound personal and societal change. ANGER GETS YOU TO MAKE A FIRST STEP Consider anger as the starter's pistol at the beginning of a race. It's not the fuel that sustains you for the entire marathon, but it propels you off the starting line ...

Recurrence

Image
So, I created this record called "Recurrence" to bring attention to this phenomenon on different levels, you know, personal and global, like social and historical. We all tend to keep repeating the same behavior, but there are both positive and negative loops. The key is to remember that if you go through something unpleasant that feels all too familiar, it's a sign that it's time for some change. So here's my thoughts on the whole thing. 2nd Accident - Recurrence (On All Music Platforms) Human history is a tapestry of brilliance and folly, progress and stagnation, marked by repetitive patterns. These patterns in conflicts, personal relationships, and society pose thought-provoking questions about the human condition and breaking these cycles. Throughout history, events and behaviors recur. Societies rise and fall, conflicts come and go, and personal dynamics echo through generations. This cycle of repetition stems from human nature, ingrained habits, societal str...

NOT EXTRA ORDINARY, ORDINARY EXTRA

Image
We've been discussing this topic on a livestream . It looks like we should summarize the key takeaways in a blog post. So, when it comes to performance, we all want to be at our best, right? Whether it's sports, hustling, or making changes in life. But here's the thing: if you're playing the long term game, you'll quickly realize that marathons aren't won by sprinters. Sure, peak performance has its place in short and stressful situations when the sky falls on you and u need to move quick and with precision, but you don't want to burn yourself out by constantly trying to be at the top of your game all the time. It'll only lead to a drop in self-esteem and make it harder to reach your past accomplishments. Instead of sprinting, try finding ways to improve your walking style and move gracefully through life, and be efficient at whatever you do with it. The Sustainable Power of Average Improvement Consistency Makes Success:  The power of consistency cannot ...

Navigating Authentic Fulfillment: Embracing True Feelings Over Material Desires

Image
Hi all. So, I kinda wrote this post for myself to sort out my thoughts on this matter. It's been on my mind for quite a while now, you know? Honestly, it really bugs me. I mean, there's so much more I want to share, but I just don't have the time to cover it all in one post. Now, reading through it, I can see that it's pretty challenging to do everything on this list. But here's what I'm planning to do: I'm gonna pick my favorite advice and give it a shot, to see where it takes me. I want to offer you to do the same. These days we really overwhelmed by consumerism and external influences, if you ask me, it's easy to fall into the trap of seeking happiness and fulfillment through material possessions. However, a deeper understanding reveals that what we truly long for are the emotions and experiences these objects provide. The key lies in recognizing and embracing these feelings without becoming ensnared in the shadowy allure of fleeting products. Let...

Life's Limited Time: what is your best move

Image
In the whirlwind of life, we often find ourselves grappling with the notion of time. It seems to slip through our fingers like sand, leaving us with a constant reminder of its impermanence. In a recent music livestream chat, the topic of life's challenges arose, and the discussion shed light on two valuable insights: the acceptance of imperfection and the importance of making the best move possible in any given moment. This blog post explores these profound realizations and how they can guide us towards a more fulfilling and purposeful life. Life is filled with a myriad of opportunities, choices, and goals. Yet, the limited time we have at our disposal makes it impossible to attain perfection in every endeavor. As human beings, we often strive for perfection, seeking flawlessness in our actions, relationships, and accomplishments. However, the pursuit of perfection can be a double-edged sword. While it can fuel our ambition and drive, it can also become a paralyzing force. Acknowle...

Your feelings don't define you; your response to them does.

Image
Feelings are an integral part of the human experience, ranging from joy and love to fear and envy. It's important to recognize that these emotions are natural and arise within us, often triggered by various circumstances and interactions. While we may not have direct control over the initial surge of negative feelings, we do have the power to choose our reactions. This post delves into the nature of our emotions, particularly fear and envy, and explores the distinction between healthy and unhealthy reactions. By understanding and embracing these emotions, we can cultivate healthier responses that lead to personal growth and well-being. Every emotion we experience, including fear and envy, emerges from a place of authenticity within us. These feelings are not inherently negative or flawed, but rather a reflection of our desires, insecurities, and perceptions. It's essential to acknowledge that experiencing fear or envy does not make us inadequate or weak. Instead, it allows us t...
